First of all I would like to say few things about the dramatic and rapid growth of the Oromo church in the Bay area. I am writing this letter to you from San Jose California/Bay area home of approximately 5000 Oromo residents. In this area our church was started few years ago but was struggling and facing a number of challenges. Few yet faithful Oromo Christians were determined to keep the church going no matter how small they were and how difficult the work has been. Read more •

the American common there is a popular saying, “What happens in Vegas
stays in Vegas!” At this juncture I beg to defer! That saying may be
true is true for hundreds of millions of people including the first
lady of the United States Laura Bush who quoted that saying after her
visit to Vegas in 2004. As I look back and see what God has done for
the Oromo evangelical church in Las Vegas I have decided to pull out my
lap top in my Hotel room and share the story with the beloved global
net work of Oromo churches around the world. What happened in Vegas
this weekend needs to be narrated and documented for the glory of God
and for the good of Oromo churches worldwide.

My trip to Dallas was
with a mission to encourage and consult with the Oromo church in
Dallas. This church was born almost three years ago when Oromo
Christians decided to come together and start a Bible study. That Bible
study group grew and became a fellowship of believers.

Without a doubt we have been victorious in establishing, launching and commencing a long and laborious yet fulfilling and meaningful journey. This is a sign of God’s blessing showering over the hard work and good intentions displayed by all involved in the process. Nonetheless in addition to the divine presence and blessing our united commitment, accountability and determination will determine the final outcome the effort.
